info:
The ticket for this show said it would start at 20:00 hrs. This resulted a long line of people waiting to get in from 19:30 hrs and on. But the doors to the venue did not open until 20:30 hrs. While the audience was waiting outside, Tommy and E were inside the POPULAR café (next to the Nighttown venue) together with opening act September 67. No one recognized them when they came out and walked through the line of people, heading for the tourbus that was parked in front of Nighttown.
September 67 was very well received (better than in Amsterdam earlier that month) and they seemed to be having a good time up on the stage. EELS played a good, but no surprising set. Before Flower E asked the people to be very quiet. If they remained quiet he would play a hard rock song after it. "O.K. you were all very quiet", E said after he finished the song, "but I lied about the hard rock song..." (someone screams FUCK YOU!) "Thank you sir! In America that means you're a fine man! Thank you, this next song is for you and it's called Fucker!" (crowd laughs) "O.K. now I'm gonna play the hard rock song" introduces Manchester Girl.
