Info:
Before the show, E talked to some fans and told them that the EELS didn't want to play the Pinkpop festival the following day, but they had to. "Contractual obligations", as E put it. The band had been touring Europe for two months and they were tired and wanted to go home. The show itself rocked and it was hard to imagine that the band on stage was indeed a 'tired' band. Before playing My Beloved Monster, E told the audience that this was their last regular gig of the European tour and that the band was "fried". They went through the song as if it was their last gig ever. Halfway through the show the band thanked all their crew by giving all the crewmembers the spotlight. "A guy in Germany requested this song, but we forgot to play it.... maybe someone can tell him we played it here" introduced A Most Unpleasant Man, from E's second solo cd. It was the first time this song was performed in The Netherlands and arguably the first time on this tour. Exodus Pt.3 also made it's debut. It's basically a solo performance by Butch, making birdsounds. It later popped up on a B-side.
