Info:

"Hey Silverchair! Can you hear us?! Turn it down man!" E was joking, but indeed Silverchair was playing so loud, you could hear their set on the other end of the field when EELS wasn't playing. Although both E and Tommy stated the day before in Eindhoven that they didn't want to do Pinkpop, this was a really special show. E started solo, making some guitar noise for about 2 minutes. Then the rest of the band came on and the guitar jam evolved into what was to be the first long version of Not Ready Yet. The song lasted more than 12 minutes. Later in a TV interview E told that this was the first time they did this version of the song and that they also did not know where they were going while playing it.

Later the show was called one of the highlights of the festival in all the papers and on radio and TV. The extended version of Rags To Rags had some Purple Rain (by Prince) in it through E's guitar amp and it featured a long drumsolo by Butch. After a beautiful rendition of A Most Unpleasant Man the last show of the long trek through Europe was over. The band was allowed to play for another 5 minutes, but they left the stage and did not come back. In the TV broadcast E can be seen saying: "There will be no more rock today!"
