Ris-Orangis is a tiny town, just under Paris. When the EELS tourbus arrived, there were already lots of screaming young girls, trying to get E's attention and greeting him as if he was a boyband member. It was so hot on the day of the show, the EELS crew had to open the doors of the venue when the band did their soundcheck. No airconditioning inside. Tommy was going over his lines in Susan's House over and over. Even at one point singing: "Going over to Susan's house... she's gonna make some soup". After that Butch took the stage for a very long drum-check, followed by a band soundcheck with the doors closed.
The concert started with the now standard extended version of Not Ready Yet. E broke a string while making some guitar noise. If I Was Your Girlfriend had a very cool new(ish) intro, which included the bass lines to Erotic City (also a Prince song). At one point the crowd got quite annoying, throwing water and stuff. The reaction of the bandmembers was kinda double. The water was not very pleasant and the roadies had to run up and down to dry the place in fear of 'Electric EELS', but on the other the water cooled everybody down a bit in this tiny hot venua that could double for a sauna...
