Info:

Before heading off to Utrecht, EELS did a session for popular Dutch radio show
Denk Aan Henk, presented by famous Dutch singer/politician Henk Westbroek. His shows are usually quite good, but this time he was not very interested in his guests. At one point Westbroek tells E that the people in the Netherlands generally like their EELS smoked or fried. E sheepishly laughs about it, but later in an interview with the Belgian HUMO magazine, E remembers this 'joke' and says he's annoyed by those kind of remarks. Westbroek continues his interview by asking E if the capital 'E' of his name and the undercast 'eels' means that he is the leader. While E is answering, you just hear he's not really listening and looking in his papers for the next question. In the end Westbroek makes things worse by announcing
Manchester Girl as being a song called 'Manchester City'.
That's the end of it? Not really... In 2002 Manchester Girl was released as one of the tracks on the cd Het Beste Uit Denk Aan Henk Live. In the liner notes of the cd booklet, Henk Westbroek again proves not to be too interested in the EELS. It makes you wonder why he put them on his 'best of' cd in the first place. Westbroek writes that the French Horn solo is done 'by the drummer of the band who found a horn from an orchestra in the hall of the radiostation'. A lovely story, but we don't see Butch suddenly do a French Horn solo. Most likely (like it happened during every performance of the song during 1997) the French Horn solo is done by Tommy (and not Butch) on his own instrument.
