review:
This was a very strange gig. First of all it was in a theatre and most of the audience were only there on the strength of Susan's House and Novocaine For The Soul. Lisa Germano was the support act and she was received politely although the audience couldn't get into the set much.
I hear that the EELS performed some really dodgy shows around this date, but this was a cracker and they were really getting into it, ending the set by talking about their previous Glasgow gigs and announcing "Glasgow, you rock my world". There were 3 encores, including a weird version of Hospital Food which baffled everyone who'd never heard the song. Like one of the other gigs I've read about, they waited until the audience was starting to filter out and the house lights were back on before returning for their 3rd encore.
