Butch's diary:
Sept. 13, 2001: Today we have to fly to Hamburg, Germany. The airports are very quiet and cautious and we are a little tentative. We arrive with no incidents and settle into our hotel.
Sept. 14, 2001: We are back to the rock today. We must rise from the events of the last days and keep on moving. If we don't then they've accomplished their goals. The opening mime stuns the crowd into bewilderment and knocks the air out of 'em, not in a good way. We explode onto the stage to slap this audience into submission. The recent events in America have put something inside us that makes the rock vital and dear to us. We hang on to every note as if our lives depend on it. This is something E learned during the making of Electro-Shock Blues.
We do our dance of rock with ever growing urgency. At the end of our set we have triumphed and say "goodnight." The audience deserve more because they really rocked our world tonight. E sends me back out there to do a solo. I don't usually do one but the crowd really pushes me to the extremes tonight. Thank You Hamburg.
