the Afroman incident:
After the November 14th show in Munich E was confronted by an annoyed fan. The fan had missed 'hit song' Novocaine For The Soul on the setlist and wasn't pleased. In turn E wasn't pleased with a fan that only wants to hear hit songs. But during the next show in Vienna the EELS could give the kids what they want. A 'hit song'. The EELS were staying at the same hotel as one-hit-wonder Afroman, who was scoring a massive hit around that time with his silly but instantly likeable Because I Got High. So the EELS invited him to come up to the venue and play along. That's exactely what happened. The kids got their 'hit song' and E didn't have to play Novocaine For The Soul for the gazillionth time. Actually, Butch stepped in to do just that right after Afroman had left the stage...
