Ticket winners and 'record industry important people that are actually not that important' were treated to free booze and an early screening of the Live At Town Hall concert film at the Cinespace in Los Angeles. Two semi important people made a speech, after which the concert movie was shown.

When the screening was over, EELS Without Strings (E, The Chet, Big Al) did a three song impromptu set. Well, not really 'impromptu'. According to E, with a scotch in one hand, his cane in the other and beanie on his head, it was their "minimal contractual obligation" to some songs. Mr. E's Beautiful Blues was a bit of a mess, but the other two songs went quite well. "Prince may be able to stop us from having his song in the movie, but he can't stop us from playing live", E remarked before I Could Never Take The Place Of Your Man. After the set, three cold pizza's were given to the audience by the band members. For those interested, it was veggie, cheese and pepperoni/sausage. Yummie!
