I've pushed some people to get near the stage, I was telling them I came all the way from Israel to see the EELS. So they were cool about it. It was a long wait because the [support act] Smoosh didn't go on stage. They broke the child labor laws of California or something. They are like 12 and it was very late on a school night....
EELS is the first band I ever loved... I was 11 when Beautiful Freak came out in 1996. I've waited 10 years to see them live... I'm so glad they did old songs and songs from all the albums. I was sure I will lose my hearing or something beacuse I was so close to E and it was so loud... but I loved it! I was sure it was going to be EELS with strings and I was so happy it was a loud and crazy rock show, Krazy Al was so funny dancing around the stage, doing karate and saying stupid things between the songs. But later he played guitar and the keyboards. He was great!
