Show as part of the Cross-Linx festival. This travelling festival explores the borders of classical and pop music and the 2008 edition is the 8th time this festival is organised. EELS is headliner and according to the festival's artistic manager Frank Veenstra the band will perform a complete set.

In the past the Cross-Linx festival brought together artists such as John Cale, Trilok Gurtu, The Ex, Spinvis and Yann Tierssen and the Dutch Radio Symfonie Orkest, the Schonberg Ensemble and the Metropole Orkest. It's unlikely that the EELS set will be much different than the rest of the tour, but considering the nature of the festival one can't help but hope on something special. There is a lot of special things going on at Cross- Linx 8 already. Such as the collaboration between New York composer Nico Muhly and singer-songwriter Teitur, who will compose a 'song cycle' especially for this festival. The cycle consists of both new compositions and existing music from the baroque period (ca. 1600 to 1750) and the modern age.. From the music of William Byrd to John Taverner, performed on historical instruments by the Holland Baroque Society, with the already mentioned Nico Muhly and Teitur. Also DJ Autonon is booked. he'll perform a special breakcore/classic Cross-Linx set. Should be interesting!
