EELS Leader Mark Oliver Everett, aka E gave his first announced performance since the conclusion of the EELS 2008 world tour in April Friday night at the Troubadour in Los Angeles. E played Girl From The North Country, Bus Stop Boxer, and was joined by Pete Townshend and Death Cab For Cutie's Ben Gibbard for Townshend's Let My Love Open The Door. Other performers included Zooey Deschanel, M. Ward, Jakob Dylan and Mike Campbell from Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers. Proceeds from the show went to The MusiCares Foundation.
