  • Solo shows and guest appearances 1999

After the emotionally draining 1998, E spends most of his time in 1999 working on the new EELS album Daisies Of The Galaxy. Grant Lee Phillips and Peter Buck are amongst those who help him out in the studio. In the meantime E occasionally plays a solo show at the Largo in Los Angeles, trying out new songs and singing/playing along with musical friends such as Jon Brion and Grant Lee Phillips. All the while Butch is busy being a father, but he too makes an occasional appearance at the Largo to play solo shows. EELS are now officially a duo as Adam Siegal went on to work with his own band My Head again. By now most people realise anyway that EELS is 100% E with help from others.

    1999 - What else?

Near the end of the year, Daisies Of The Galaxy is finished. The album won't be released until March in the next year. Yet E travels to Europe to already do some interviews and other press commitments from a London hotel room.
