In an exciting, yet quite unexpected post on the official website on March 3rd, 2009 it was announced that the EELS would return with a new album called Hombre Lobo in the summer of 2009. It's the first new EELS album in four years. And for the first time in the EELS' career, the album is not immediately followed by a tour. But the rare performances on television and online, saw E and band (including 'long lost EEL' Tommy Walter) in top form!

These rumours were quickly put to rest by none other that Mr. E himself. In Spinner Magazine he was quoted saying: "I'm not going to disrespect the audience by going out there and doing something that my heart's not into. And it's not into it right now. But that could change at any moment." Well, that's fair enough. E's actually never been the touring type and it's a small miracle he went out on the road year after year after year since 1996. In his response to the magazine E stated the following: "The thing is, since Blinking Lights came out, we went on three long world tours that were all very different from each other.
