EELS (Related) Interviews
While gathering information for this website, the Eels.nl team has spoken a lot of people over the years. Most not connected directly to the band and a few times not specifically for this site. But way too interesting to withold them from you, dear EELS-fan. So here's a collection of interviews.
PARTHENON HUXLEY
As a producer almost as important for E's debut album as the man called E himself. In september 2007 Parthenon took the time to tell Eels.nl about his collaboration with E in the early ninety-nineties.
"As a producer, though, you have to recognize what the artist is going after. You have to make the artist's record, not your own. I think I knew when to back off and when to exert myself."

TOMMY WALTER
When Tommy Walter left EELS in the fall of 1997 it was quite a shock. A few weeks after his departure, Eels.nl hooked up with Tommy to hear what happened.
"Whatever needed to be done to make a song work in a live context, I would do. Either by playing a different instrument or coming up with ideas for arrangements or orchestrations."

TONY MOSTROM
While other artists contributed drawings and short comic stories to the Electro-Shock Blues album in 1998, Mostrom was responsible for almost all of the promotional artwork.
"My taste in rock runs more toward groups like My Bloody Valentine, Broadcast and The Soft Machine; that kind of thing. That said, though, I really liked Electro-Shock Blues!"

E (1998)
Halfway through the Electro-Shock Blues tour, the album is not yet released anywhere and audiences don't seem to 'get' the new EELS show yet. E talks about disrespectful crowds and the dark side.
"What I'm trying to achieve is that people will know that coming to a show by the EELS means that they can expect anything."
